Single Malt Whisky: 2021 Release
Award-winning distillers Eden Mill have unveiled an exclusive limited-edition 800 bottles of its 2021 Release Single Malt Scotch in time for St Andrew’s Day. [SOLD OUT]
Retailing at £85, the small batch 2021 release is crafted by a perfect marriage of first-fill bourbon casks and ex-oloroso sherry casks, incorporating spirit distilled using pale malted barley.
The 2021 scotch is the fourth annual single malt release by Eden Mill, since releasing their inaugural bottling in 2018.
Last year’s St Andrews Day Single Malt release from Eden Mill is nominated this evening at the Scottish Whisky Awards 2021 in the Single Malt No Age Statement category.
The brand’s unique Eden Mill Hip Flask Series is also nominated in three other categories for their first peated expressions released this year; both Hip Flask number 16 and 17 are nominated in the Single Cask 12-Year-Old and Under category and they are nominated for Product Launch of the Year.
Scott Ferguson, Eden Mill’s head distiller said: ‘The result is a beautifully rich dram, which carries notes of caramelised pears and fruit crumble with undertones of hazelnut praline and a long-lasting peppery finish.
‘The liquid our team have crafted continues to push the boundaries of our previous whisky expressions, which we are absolutely honoured to have recognised in the Scottish Whisky Awards.
‘An evolution of Eden Mill’s cask and spirit, raising a dram of our 2021 release takes our whisky fans on the next step of our journey as the spirit is aging and changing.
‘We greatly anticipate that next step into our new climate positive distillery in St. Andrews next year and hope whisky fans will join us as part of our cask club, the 1655, to be a part of that historic moment.’
Members of Eden Mill’s 1655 club will each own a unique cask of Eden Mill single malt to mature on the banks of the Eden and receive exclusive pre-sales of new expressions and special releases, including a limited 200 bottle release of Eden Mill 2021 Single Malt Scotch Cask Strength (£110, 70cl, 60.7% ABV) later this year.
