THE NOSE
Mulled wine with red fruits marrying with gentle clove spice. A slice of cherry bakewell tart with some rum & raisin ice cream.
the palate
Red fruits turn to dark fruits as the Amarone influence takes hold. Blackberry compote and fig jam with a dusting of cracked black pepper.
the finish
Glazed cinnamon bun and glacé cherries. A rewardingly sweet and spicy finish.
Flavor Profile
Amarone Cask
"Following on from last year’s peated ex-Cognac finish, we wanted to look at something richer with a vibrant fruit character.
We had whisky maturing in Amarone casks which were full of juicy red fruits, almond and black pepper spice. It was an excellent base profile that we then layered with Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez-matured single malts to add syrupy-sweet date, raisin and fig notes.
A final finish in first-fill Amarone casks elevated the lively, jam-like fruits while adding a heady red wine top note and a deep copper colour. The result is a Single Malt that celebrates the flavours and style that Amarone wine casks bring to whisky."

Babs Pease
To convey the essence of this year’s exceptional release, we partnered with artist Babs Pease, a printmaker working with linocut.
Babs crafts her exquisite pieces by hand carving onto lino blocks before she floods a pool of ink into her hand crafted piece, trusting the tide of colour to mix and swirl in the grooves to create something beautiful.
The process is completed by printing using an antique Victorian relief press, revealing a unique and tactile piece of artwork that is made to be cherished.
